Our client is seeking a RIG OPERATONS MANAGER to work within their facilities located in RIO DE JANEIRO.
Duties
- Be the focal point for technical discussions with Customers. Reviewing and ensuring well work programs comply with customer requirements
- To be the registered engineer at CREA-RJ (Architects and Engineers Council) as Technically responsible for the Company operations in country.
- Provide support to the offshore senior team for well control issues
- Provide support to the offshore senior team for high pressure intervention riser systems
- Experience entering Brasil with a new build vessel
- Experience working on dynamically positioned intervention vessels, ensuring that the vessel is “fit for purpose” and capable of performing the operations required of it.
- Works with vessel marine staff on any technical issue associated with the vessel, drilling and well operations equipment
- Knowledge of rules and regulations for well work in Brasil ensuring operations compliance with company, government and regulatory bodies
- Directs onshore and offshore operations associated with drilling and completions for the vessel
- Manages third party and service companies offshore
- Directs and approves procurement activities for drilling and completions
- Establish annual operating and capital budgets together with associated objectives with Well Ops Management
- Clearly communicate objectives to workforce and follow up on performance. Ensures offshore workforce is appropriately trained.
- Review all P&L reports and forecasts
- Review all bids and contracts
- Review project variance reports and take actions as required
- Review and approve all project/operations procedures
- Act as back-up to Country Manager in their absence.
Required:
- BSc in Mechanical Engineer ins MANDATORY.
- Solid experience in project management;
- Experience as an Assistant Rig Manager is desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of DP Vessel operations, well operations, project and general management.
